The following is subject to open competitive bidding. Date: July 8, 2026. Contracting officer: Takuya HASHIMOTO, Director of the Procurement Division, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Procurement agency number: 808. 1. Procurement details:
(1) Classification codes: 71, 27.
(2) Procurement subject and quantity: Complete expansion of network switches at the AI chip design center.
(3) Characteristics of the procurement subject: According to the tender documents and specifications.
(4) Fulfillment deadline: March 31, 2027.
(5) Fulfillment location: As specified in the tender documents.
(6) Tender method: The subject in 1(2) is open to bidding. The winning bid price will be the bid amount plus 10% of that amount (fractions less than 1 yen will be truncated). Bidders must state in the bid form an amount equivalent to 100/110 of the estimated contract amount regardless of tax status.
2. Eligibility for participation:
(1) Must not fall under Articles 7 or 8 of the AIST contract handling rules.
(2) Must be rated A, B, or C in the qualification screening for service providers by AIST. Those with equivalent qualifications under the unified government qualification system are also eligible.
(3) Must not be under suspension of designation under AIST rules during the bidding period.
(4) Technically capable small and medium enterprises meeting certain criteria may participate regardless of rating. Application timing and place for qualification are as published on January 6, 2025, in the Official Gazette. Bid opening: August 28, 2026, 14:00 at the same location. Language and currency: Japanese and Japanese yen. No bid or contract guarantee required. Bidders must submit sealed bids by the deadline and respond to any requests for explanation before bid opening. Invalid bids include those from ineligible bidders or those failing obligations. The winner will be the lowest valid bidder within the price limit set by AIST rules, with provisions to reject bids that may cause contract performance issues or disrupt fair trade.
